Who We Are

The Softies story begins in 2006 in snowy Minnesota. After 40 years of working in women’s clothing sales and manufacturing, Dennis Murphy and his designer, Lily, decided to start their own business. As veterans of the women’s apparel industry, the Murphys had a solid understanding of what fabrics, designs and benefits women were looking for in sleepwear and loungewear.

To this day, Softies is still family-run, led by Tim Murphy, his mom Peggy, and an amazing staff at their Minnesota warehouse.

We’re all proud of the business we’ve worked hard to create. In fact, Oprah Winfrey and her team at O, The Oprah Magazine, have chosen our incredibly soft styles for Oprah’s Favorite Things List four years in a row — 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020! Softies has also been featured on Good Morning America and The View. We’re grateful to call all of these respected outlets part of our Softies family.
